Please mark your calendars and join us for the Suncoast ASTD-Sarasota Geographic Interest Group (GIG) Meeting on December 3 at 6 pm.
Art Emrich retired as the Corporate Manager of Human Development for the Dupont Company in Wilmington, DE. He then joined Kanbay International in Chicago as Director of Knowledge Management, and later Vice President of Learning and Culture. Eight years ago he founded U-Solutions, LLC here in Sarasota. He is a trainer, consultant, and coach, and is especially interested in how to manage the culture of an organization, and how the “Quality of Thinking” of individual members of an organization impacts the level of success that can be attained, both for the person and for their company.
We are fortunate to have Art present at our December meeting on the topic: Hypnosis and Emotional Intelligence. He will introduce the topic of hypnosis and then review what we understand about how the conscious mind and the unconscious mind seem to work and what drives our behavior. We will have an experiential activity that engages both minds to achieve a goal of choice. This will be followed by a brief review of emotional intelligence covering 13 essential competencies and how emotions seem to work from a hypnosis perspective. He will conclude with a comparison of hypnosis and EI, and include another experiential activity to ensure that the goal selected will be achieved.
