A Glimpse at Gaming

This presentation introduces, defines, and describes gamification/games for learning. We will talk about some of the research done on the effectiveness of games for learning, and how games present new opportunities to raise the learner's engagement and learning applications. We will talk about how to successfully implement games into the workplace from a practical standpoint by mapping learning objectives to gaming strategies, and how easily gaming elements can be added to traditional instruction. I will talk briefly about our experience at game development at AT&T and some of the lessons learned.
